Bobby Brown Allegedly Concerned Over Bobbi Kristina’s $20 Million Inheritance [Report]

Bobbi Kristina has received a portion of her inheritance from her Mother's estate, with two future disbursements scheduled.

A new report alleges that Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, is determined to sort out legal issues surrounding his daughter’s inheritance from Whitney Houston’s estate.

Though it is not known if Bobbi Kristina had a will in place, Us Weekly asserts that a contentious situation has developed between Bobby Brown and the Houston family, ostensibly over money. Citing an inside source close to the situation, the publication claims that Houston’s remaining family members, including her mother, Cissy, 81, and her brothers Michael, 53, and Gary, 57, don’t wish to see Brown benefit financially from Bobbi Kristina‘s situation.

“As the situation gets more grave, I think people are feeling the pressure. Money is a big point of contention,” the source noted.

“The family doesn’t want to see Bobby benefit.”

Bobbi Kristina received the first portion of her inheritance in March, 2014, on her 21st birthday. She is scheduled to receive two further disbursements, at the age of 25 and 30. If Bobbi Kristina passes away, the money she has already received would go to Brown, while the funds she has yet to collect from her mother’s estate would pass to the Houston family.

Though she has been in a medically induced coma ever since she was discovered face down in a bathtub on January 31, Bobbi Kristina‘s condition has reportedly worsened in recent days, leaving her situation dire. Bobbi Kristina’s partner, Nick Gordon, is thought to be the focus of a police investigation concerning the matter, and he has recently found himself embroiled in a messy public back-and-forth with her family.

“Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon,” Brown has asserted.

It has also been alleged that certain relatives of Bobbi Kristina have attempted to benefit from the media attention surrounding her situation, asking for thousands of dollars in payment or car services and hotel stays in return for interviews. On February 13, Bobby Brown spoke out through his lawyer, asking the media to cease conversations with unauthorized family members.

“The integrity of the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina must remain uncompromised. Various members of the family have provided media interviews, however, none of them are approved visitors to see Bobbi Kristina. None of them have firsthand knowledge of Bobbi Kristina’s treatment and the medical staff at Emory University Hospital has not communicated with them.”

Though details of her condition remain sparse, Bobby Brown is said to be holding out hope that Bobbi Kristina may yet recover.
