‘The Vampire Diaries’ Spoilers: Mystic Falls Faces ‘Biggest Threat’ And Loses Another

The Vampire Diaries has brought in several enemies for the gang of Mystic Falls to handle during the last six seasons. However, a new threat has been introduced, and it is the biggest threat the characters will face during the second half of The Vampire Diaries Season 6.

This threat is not a supernatural threat, either. For a change, a very human threat will bring trouble for Caroline Forbes and her friends. They will lose another person they love on the next episode, according to International Business Times.

At the end of the last episode, Caroline Forbes gave her mother some of her blood. Sheriff Forbes is dying of cancer, and her daughter hoped her vampire blood would cure her, as it heals so many other things.

Caroline even tested this on another cancer patient with her mother’s exact illness. She thought she had cured him, but her vampire blood had the opposite effect. A preview for The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 12, titled “Prayer for the Dying,” shows Stefan telling Caroline that her blood sped up the cancer process.

This means Caroline’s mother, Sheriff Forbes, will die. According to Spoilers Guide, Caroline Dries did tease in a recent interview that cancer does play a huge role in this season.

“Kai is the biggest supernatural threat and I would say cancer is actually the biggest threat of the season. That’s why we were kind of excited to tell this story finally is because it feels like in Season 6 now, we’ve explored so many different supernatural, crazy things, that this reality is the scariest thing of all.”

After Caroline’s mother dies, she will lean on Stefan. The friends have been distant most of this season because of Stefan’s disappearing act following his brother’s “death” at the end of Season 5. Things are returning to normal now, though, and Caroline will lean on her friend because of her guilt. She will blame herself for the death of her mother.

Sheriff Forbes is not the only character leaving Mystic Falls behind. Jeremy Gilbert will depart the series during an upcoming episode, but he will not die. Jeremy will leave Mystic Falls behind in order to get away from all the bad that comes with living in the small town.

Life in Mystic Falls is definitely not easy. A new preview for upcoming episodes teases some of the action that is coming up next on The Vampire Diaries. Damon and Elena will reunite, and he will have some problems with Kai. However, the steamy moment for Damon and Elena is the biggest tease of the video.

What do you think about the trouble ahead for The Vampire Diaries? Are you sad to see the death of Sheriff Forbes?
