Gran Turismo 5 XL edition announced, due out this month
Back in December, a retail listing for “Gran Turismo 5 XL” popped up, and it was assumed at the time to be some sort of re-release with all of the post-release content bundled in.
As it turns out, that listing, and the assumption that it was a re-release, was correct. Sony officially announced Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition over on the PlayStation Blog today, which includes the original game plus a healthy dose of extra content.
The “XL” edition includes all of the post-release content made available since Gran Turismo 5‘s release, including the more recent “Spec 2.0” update. In addition to that, gamers will receive a $20 voucher good for five pieces of Gran Turismo 5 DLC: the Racing Car Pack, Car Pack 2, Course Pack, Racing Gear Pack, and Paint Pack.
Despite being a pretty big racing game fan, I’ve somehow managed to avoid picking up Gran Turismo 5 since it was originally released back in November of 2010, but I may finally get around to taking the plunge when Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition releases.
Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition will be made available at your retailer of choice starting January 17 for a reasonable $39.99.
