Slumdog Millionaire wins 7 BAFTA’s


Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner this weekend at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA’s) with a huge haul of seven wins.

Slumdog Millionaire won best film and director honors, adding to wins at the DGA, PGA, SAG, WGA and Golden Globes.

Kate Winslet won best actress for her role in The Reader, and best actor went to Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler.

Rising Star – Noel Clarke
Best Screeplay – In Bruges
Best Costume Drama – The Duchess
Best Make-up – Benjamin Button
Best Production Design – Benjamin Button
Best Visual Effects – Benjamin Button
Outstanding Contribution – Pinewood and Shepperton Studios
Bafta Fellowship – Terry Gilliam
Carl Foreman Award for special achievement by a British director, writer or producer for their first feature – Steve McQueen (Hunger)
