Aretha Franklin to Marry William “Willie” Wilkerson

The queen of soul has found her king. Aretha Franklin announced today that she will be marrying her longtime friend William “Willie” Wilkerson this summer.

Franklin told the Associated Press that the wedding details aren’t finalized yet, but the iconic singer said that the wedding will probably be held on a private yacht off the coast of Miami Beach next summer.

Franklin, 69, said:

“We’re looking at June or July for our date and no, I’m not pregnant, LOL!”

Franklin, who lost more than 80 pounds last year after a health scare, said that she was excited to pick out a wedding dress. A rep for Franklin said:

“Ms. Franklin is considering Donna Karan, Valentino and the queen of wedding dresses, Vera Wang, to design her gown.”

According to People, the Grammy winning singer has already been married twice. The queen of soul was married to Ted White for eight years and actor Glynn Turman for six years.
