George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin Golden Globes: Clooney’s Accessorize With ‘Je Suis Charlie’ Pin, White Gloves

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, making their first official award show appearance since getting married. According to Variety, the Clooney’s made quite the impression, and while all eyes were on the Misses, just about everyone noticed that Clooney wore a “Je Suis Charlie” pin in remembrance of the recent terror attacks in Paris, France. Clooney wasn’t the only one to show support, either.

“William H. Macy, nominated for best actor in a TV comedy (‘Shameless’), told Variety on the red carpet: ‘I am Charlie.’ Meanwhile, Helen Mirren and Kathy Bates also showed off ‘Je Suis Charlie’ signage on the red carpet. French composer Alexandre Desplat, nominated for his ‘Imitation Game’ score, also brought a copy of the sign as he walked the carpet.”

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin looked dapper together, him in a classic black tux, and her in a floor-length black gown. It was Amal’s gown accessory, however, that really had people talking. The newlywed wore white gloves, which undoubtedly made a statement. According to Page Six, Amal wore Dior — but the gloves were her own — and looked stunning as she walked with her man, and politely smiled as he did press.

And George and Amal weren’t left alone during the opening of the show, either. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey took aim at the couple, pointing out so many of Amal’s incredible achievements as an activist and a lawyer, and then mentioning that George was present to accept the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. Ironic? Totally.

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have been making headlines pretty regularly since they started dating. Of course the stories surrounding their relationship have changed from engagement and wedding rumors to baby and divorce rumors, but that’s the life of a Hollywood power couple.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there have been rumors that George and Amal are having issues because she is jealous of his relationship with actress Sandra Bullock. While most people can see through these ridiculous stories, they still manage to get a rise out of people, which is why they will never go away. If Amal is even remotely jealous of any of Clooney’s friends, she didn’t show it on Sunday night.
