1 New York Resident Wins $206 Million Mega Millions Lottery Jackpot

One Lucky New york man matched all five numbers and the mega ball last night, winning $206 million dollars in the Mega Millions lottery. the winning numbers were 23, 32, 33, 39, 43 and a mega ball number of 8.

The winning ticket was purchased at a King Kullen grocery store in Middle Island, Long Island, a spokesperson for the store confirmed to ABCNews.com today.

Lisa Korpi, the store’s head bookkeeper, said “There was a lottery representative here this morning when we opened the store. They said we had sold the winning ticket and gave us their card and said if the person came in who purchased the winning ticket to please give them that information.”

“We are hearing that it was possibly sold on Monday,” she said.

New York Lottery officials said the $206 million jackpot is the largest Long Island has ever seen. The winner will take home 151.9 million if they chose the cash option.

Korpi went on to say that usually during these huge Mega Millions jackpots the store gets inundated with people looking for the shot at the money, but this time all was quiet on the home front.

The previous record for a winning ticket sold in Long Island was in June, when 20 co-workers at a Long Island Costco store split a $201.9 million Mega Millions jackpot.
