‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Season 8 Casting Rumors

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 won’t premiere for several months, but already, there have been rumors regarding the cast and firings.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta fans can rest assured: Their favorite cast members will not be fired after this season,” Radar Online reported on January 5. “A recent report claimed producers axed cast standouts NeNe Leakes, Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey, and also gave recurring guest star Porsha Williams her walking papers, due to ‘lackluster ratings.'”

However, another source claims that isn’t the case.

“None of the ladies have been fired,” Radar’s source insisted. “Who would be left on the show? There would be no juicy storylines.”

Late last year, MediaTakeOut claimed Leakes, Bailey, and Moore had been fired ahead of the upcoming eighth season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“This season did not bring the drama that we thought it would. The [Real Housewives Of Atlanta] is about real drama, not pretend fights and scripted scenes. The ladies didn’t bring it this season,” a source reportedly told the site.

According to the site, there were two exceptions when it came to delivering drama, and they came in the form of returning housewives Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks.

“Both of them have enough [real] drama in their lives that we’ll definitely bring them back,” the insider added. “Everyone liked Claudia, so she’ll probably be back too.”

The source claimed Bravo already decided to let Leakes, Bailey, and Moore go.

“It’s a done deal – they’re gone,” the source confirmed.

And as for Porsha Williams, “She’s probably gone too… but we’ll have to see.”

As the Inquisitr reported, Williams was demoted after Season 6, and spoke of the issue during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

“What happened, I think… I was dating someone at the time, and of course, as part of the show when we sign up, it’s about showing who you date. He was playing football, and his coach told him that he didn’t want him to film until later in the season. So unfortunately, I had filmed and shown some of my personal life, had told the producers that I would show him, but I couldn’t show him until the very, very end and by then it was a little too late.”

“They wanted a lot of the dating, and I totally get that because I’m coming from divorce, but I wanted them to film me performing ‘Flatline’ and my hair-line NAKED,” Williams, who joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta during the show’s fifth season, explained, according to a Reality Tea report.
