Amber Portwood Back in Jail, Will Be Held Until January 13th

Troubled Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is back in jail after a judge found she did not meet the terms of her probation following a conviction for felony domestic battery.

Just about a year ago, Portwood was charged with three felonies in relation to footage of her physically attacking the father of her child on the MTV show Teen Mom. The arrest kicked off a rather unpleasant year for the reality show mom, as nude pics of Portwood were leaked to the internet just two months later. Then in May, Portwood’s home and car were vandalized, and later that month, she lost a bitter custody dispute with ex Gary Shirley. In June, she was hospitalized after a suicide attempt, but later recovered.

A local paper says that Portwood was arrested at the courthouse after it was determined that she failed to meet several of the terms of her probation, such as attending anger management classes and obtaining or working towards a GED. Portman’s brother told E! Online that the reality star was in possession of pills for which she could not produce a prescription, and the paper reports:

According to a report by the Probation Department, Portwood had become “a danger to herself and to society; therefore should be taken into custody.” The report cited Portwood’s suicidal tendencies (Gary Shirley, father of Portwood’s baby, called Anderson police in June after she threatened to take her own life), and abuse of prescription medications as reasons the recommendation for arrest was made.

The judge ordered Portman to be held until a January 13th hearing, which means she will not have a chance to spend Christmas with her daughter. At the hearing, she could be sentenced to two years in jail for violating her probation.
