Bill Cosby To New York Post ‘Page Six’ Reporter: ‘They Don’t Want Me Talking To The Media’

Wait…what? That’s the reaction this black member of the media had upon reading the latest headlines about an “upbeat” Bill Cosby telling the New York Post that the black media shouldn’t really have an opinion about the long list of women who’ve accused Cosby of drugging and raping them, according to Stacy Brown of Page Six, who often covers black media topics.

“Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind.”

Well, “Mister” Bill Cosby, as a member of the black media myself, upholding the standards of journalism means publishing reports of white and black women who have come forward. Women like Beverly Johnson, a black former supermodel, who alleges that Bill Cosby drugged her, but claims she was able to escape the clutches of Cosby and avoided the rapes that other women who encountered Cosby say they endured, and the shame and fear that went along with those episodes of sexual assault.

Excellence in journalism as reported by the Inquisitr – black media or otherwise – means listening to accounts of the woman who says a 49-year-old Bill Cosby raped her as a 17-year-old girl and comparing that with the confusing doublespeak of Cosby lawyers who say everything but a simple “Yes, Cosby is guilty and repentant” or “No, none of the allegations are true.”

This member of the black media wants more than quips and quotes about the “love and the strength of womanhood” when it comes to how Camille Cosby is putting up with all these problems – and excellence in journalism doesn’t mean folks like Bill Cosby should attempt to get an Associated Press reporter to kill a true reaction to the hard-hitting questions about Cosby’s role in the alleged rapes as reported by CNN.

“Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love.”

No, upholding the standards of excellence in journalism means asking honest questions and getting truthful answers, not sideways jabs hoping members of the black media will give Bill Cosby a pass for potentially raping women. It doesn’t work that way. Only the grace of God works that way, if we’re dealing with a repentant and honest heart.

“They don’t want me talking to the media.”

It’s no wonder Cosby’s PR and legal teams wouldn’t want him talking to the media – black or white. With BS responses from Bill Cosby like that, which don’t address serious allegations from a litany of women claiming they were truly hurt by Cosby, he doesn’t need to talk to the black or white media if he’s going to expect some kind of pass.

So how about Bill Cosby answering these questions about Bill Cosby from an open-minded, “neutral” member of the media:

1. Is Bill Cosby a serial somnophiliac and has Cosby ever been treated for the condition?

2. Did Camille Cosby know about any of the rape allegations before they hit the media and court?

3. Did Bill Cosby, when confronted with allegations about swinging years ago as reported by Page Six, instead leak his 23-year-old daughter Erinn Cosby’s drug problems to throw reporters off his scent?

Let’s start with that “excellence in journalism,” and allow this member of the black media to remain neutral with the responses received from Bill Cosby. I invite Cosby to answer them honestly — knowing that at age 77, Cosby may meet his maker sooner than others — and as a professed Christian, Cosby can’t hide behind lawyers on that final judgment day.
