Phaedra Parks Divorce: The RHOH Star Is ‘Amicably Ending Marriage’ – Here’s Why!
Phaedra Parks is reportedly filing for divorce from her husband Apollo Nida, according to Radar Online.
This should not be a surprise to any fans or critics of the Real Housewives of Atlanta star since reports have been circulating for weeks now that Phaedra Parks would be leaving her husband once he started to serve his prison sentence.
According to the report released by Radar Online, Phaedra Parks has already retained legal representation to handle the dissolution of her marriage “amicably.”
“[Parks] has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage.”
Phaedra Parks’ husband, Apollo Nida, checked himself into a prison in Kentucky in September to begin his eight-year sentence for pleading guilty to bank fraud earlier this year.
This is not the first time that Apollo Nida has had to serve time in jail, because he was also locked up for six years for grand theft auto from 2003 to 2009.
In an exclusive interview with Radar Online, the marriage overall was “a huge mistake.” However, Phaedra Parks was able to enjoy one major gift from their matrimonial time together – their “beloved kids.”
“There was no way Phaedra was going to put her life…awaiting Apollo to be released. The marriage was a huge mistake, but did give her their beloved kids. There were serious trust issues…Phaedra suspects he has been unfaithful and has been burning through money.”
This statement from the inside source falls right in line with the official statement delivered by Phaedra Parks’ rep back in September when Apollo Nida first started serving his jail sentence. According to the statement, Phaedra Parks was focused on “putting all of her energy” into taking care of her children.
“Phaedra is now putting all of her energy into ensuring the well-being of her two children and making decisions that are in their best interests. This situation has put a tremendous strain on Phaedra…she is working hard to bring back a sense of normalcy to everyone’s lives.”
The marriage between Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida is possibly “amicably ending” due to the fact that it is not a surprise to Apollo Nida either.
According to an interview that he did earlier this year with Atlanta’s B100 radio station, he did not believe that his marriage to Phaedra Parks would survive his jail sentence.
“I doubt it…I mean, my wife didn’t even…show up for my sentencing. I’m still salty about that.”
The new season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres on Sunday, November 9. According to a report released by TMZ, cameras for the show captured footage of all of the drama and legal troubles associated with Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida’s marital problems and Apollo’s jail sentence.
