Twilight fans, rejoice! The franchise based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer continues in an upcoming series of short films put together by Facebook and Lionsgate.

Instead of telling an epic tale that picks up where the movies ended, a handful of female filmmakers will each have a chance to tackle a story centered around one specific character. According to MSN , the Twilight Saga -inspired shorts will operate under the title “The Storytellers — New Creative Voices of ‘ The Twilight Saga .’” Fans can expect the short films to arrive on Facebook at some point next year.

Author Stephenie Meyer and star Kristen Stewart will select which filmmakers to bring these Twilight short films to life. As of this writing, it’s unknown which characters Lionsgate wants the directors to tackle for the series. That info should arrive before long.

If this Twilight project goes off without a hitch, Liosngate CEO Jon Feltheimer and Vice Chairman Michael Burns intend to do the same thing with a number of the studio’s other franchises. In other words, expect Hunger Games and Divergent short flicks to hit the internet at some point down the cinematic road.

“We’re delighted to expand our longstanding relationship with Stephenie and confident that her participation in the Twilight short films campaign will add an exciting new dimension to the incredible world she has created as an author and producer. Our partnership with Facebook and Women In Film underscores the opportunities for growing our franchises in exciting new directions, and we’re pleased to introduce fresh creative talent to the Twilight universe as part of our commitment to female empowerment in front of and behind the camera.”

Rolling Stone points out that the Twilight Saga short films shouldn’t have any trouble finding an audience . The official Twilight Facebook page sports approximately 150 million likes and Facebook has around 1.3 billion users. Of course, it’s unknown if these filmmakers will give folks something that’s truly worth watching.

However, Meyer is pretty pumped about the project.

“The female voice is something that has become more and more important to me as I’ve worked in the film industry. I’m honored to be working with Women In Film, Lionsgate, and Facebook on a project dedicated to giving more women a chance to be heard creatively.”

Are you looking forward to the Twilight Saga short films? What characters would you like to see tackled by these female filmmakers?
