The first official Taken 3 trailer has been released online - and it will keep you on the edge of your seat!

When the announcement of Taken 3 was first released and confirmed by 20th Century Fox, many fans and critics of the blockbuster franchise had mixed feelings and reactions to the news. However, the Taken 3 trailer eliminates those doubts and uncertainties almost immediately by taking a turn that many people did not see coming.

In the first movie, Taken, Bryan Mills (played by Liam Neeson) had to deal with the fact that his ex-wife clearly wanted nothing to do with him (especially since her second marriage was working out so well) and did not want him to get close to their daughter because of her justified fear of him hurting her again by disappearing from her life. His daughter travels overseas for a pleasure trip with a friend and gets abducted almost immediately. Bryan Mills swoops in and uses his "special set of skills" to save his daughter and save the day.

In the second movie, Taken 2, Bryan and his wife are the ones that are taken while trying to enjoy a pleasure trip overseas as a family - and it is their daughter who works hard and technically saves the day - preventing her parents from being tortured and murdered.

In the third movie, as you can see from the Taken 3 trailer, things have gone in a completely new direction. Liam Neeson basically turns into Harrison Ford - sorta. How so?

Take a moment to think this through and you will clearly see the connection made in the Taken 3 trailer between Liam Neeson and Harrison Ford.

Husband is enjoying life with his beautiful wife. Wife is murdered and husband is cleverly framed for the murder. The case against the husband seems like an open-and-shut case where he is guilty of first-degree murder. However, husband uses the very first opportunity that he gets to escape and go on the run in order to clear his name and bring the real murderer to justice. Law enforcement officials are led by a stubborn man yet strong leader that is known for "getting the guy" in order to track down and arrest the husband.

What does this basic synopsis remind you of? Could it be the 1993 film, The Fugitive which starred none other than Harrison Ford in the lead role of Dr. Richard Kimble? Exactly!

Taken 3 seems like it is going to be a close cousin of The Fugitive.

An A-list actor who is known for a versatile range of roles over the years is trying to clear his name against another strong supporting actor also known for versatility on the big screen. All you need to do is replace Liam Neeson with Harrison Ford and Forest Whitaker with Tommy Lee Jones and Taken 3 will quickly become a reboot of The Fugitive, right?

Chances are that this comparison will be made frequently over the next few weeks - especially since the Taken 3 trailer is sure to go viral in a relatively short period of time. However, you need to remember that you heard it first on The Inquisitr.
