‘Austin Powers’ Actor, Joe Son, Suspected of Killing Cellmate

Joseph Son, the man who played Random Task in Austin Powers, was convicted last month for the gang rape of a California woman. Son, who is serving a life sentence at Wasco State Prison for his crime, is now suspected of killing the man who shared his prison cell.

Son’s 50-year-old cellmate, who has not been publicly identified, was found dead in his cell on October 10th. CBS reports that the victim was serving a 2-year sentence for failing to register as a sex offender.

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokeswoman Terry Thornton said that the death was currently being treated as a homicide, but Thornton did not give any details about how the victim died. Thornton said that an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death and that Son was considered the main suspect in the man’s murder.

Son avoided prison for more than 20 years before DNA evidence linked him to a 1990 Christmas Eve gang rape of a 19-year-old California woman.

The Inquisitr reported last month that Son and Santiago Lopez Gaitan drove the woman out to Huntington Beach at gunpoint, than forcibly sodomized her in the back of the car. Son and Gaitan threatened to kill the woman, but eventually released her naked and blindfolded. Son was convicted of torture and rape and was sentenced to life in prison.

Will you ever be able to watch Austin Powers again without thinking of the horrible deeds committed by Joseph Son?
