Emma Roberts On American Horror Story, ‘I Read The Script And I Was Having Nightmares’

American Horror Story actress Emma Roberts revealed that the newest season terrifies her. The actress was a fan of the show even before joining the cast in the third season, but now can’t recall a number of scenes because she was hiding while they were being filmed. American Horror Story’s 4th season is titled Freak Show, and may cause an outbreak of Coulrophobia (fear of clowns.)

According to E! News, Roberts had this to say about the series,

“American Horror Story in general scares me to death. I have to say, ‘Freak Show’ is really scarier…. I read the script and I was having nightmares.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the newest season of American Horror Story will take place in the Jupiter, Florida in the early 1950s. The plot will center around one of the last remaining American freak shows. Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Frances Conroy, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Jamie Brewer will all be returning for the newest season.

Emma may have good reason for believing this will be the scariest season yet. FX has released a number of terrifying teasers to promote American Horror Story, many of which have gone viral on Youtube. The videos make one thing very clear, viewers will learn to fear clowns like never before.

In Freak Show, Roberts will play Maggie, who will not appear to be a freak when audiences first meet her. Ms. Roberts has hinted that there will be more to her character than meets the eye.

Jessica Lange will be playing the German manager of the deranged carnival. Lange has said that she would not continue past the 4th season of American Horror Story, although Emma Roberts hopes that will not be the case.

“I think all of us have our fingers crossed that Jessica will come back next season. At least I do because I love working with her. I hope it’s not her last season.”

Ms. Lange has been nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for her work on all three seasons of AHS, winning twice. Nevertheless, the actress feels that Freak Show will be the best yet,

“This season is going to be the most extraordinary that we’ve done. If it can all come together and we keep on track, it’s going to be something really, really special.”

Another important member of the cast will be Jyoti Amge, who, at two feet six inches tall, hold the world’s record for smallest woman. With all the rumors and speculation floating around the newest season,

American Horror Story: Freak Show will premiere on FX on October 8th, 10PM.
