‘American Horror Story’: More Details Revealed About The Freak Show

More and more details about American Horror Story are being revealed as season 4 draws nearer. The fourth season, which is entitled Freak Show, is set in the 1950’s in Jupiter, Florida where Jessica Lange stars as a German ex-pat running an American freak show featuring unusual people.

Along with Lange, other American Horror Story stars who will be returning are Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Denis O’Hare, and others.

The most recent reveal is Michael Chiklis’ character. TVLine reported that American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy dished out on Chiklis’ character at the recent Critics’ Choice Television Awards. He said that Chiklis will be playing “a strong man who’s married to Angela Bassett’s character.

“He has scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates. I love the part because it’s really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Michael does so well – the strong man who’s vulnerable. I’m very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies. And he’s really up for it, really excited about it,”

Chiklis will be the ex-husband of Kathy Bates’ character and the father of Evan Peters’ character. Major characters are all members of a freak show.

In an article from Latin Post, bates also talked about a few things about the show. “It’s the late 1950’s in Jupiter, Florida, and I know what my character looks like, but I don’t know anything else about her,” she said.

Paulson also talked about the show and said that she has known that she will be playing a two-headed character since the middle of last season. “I know how much people want to know and how much they actually like to be surprised, and I knew that I could never do anything until Ryan told me that I could and once I got the go-ahead… I just don’t want to be the one who gets killed, you know?” she said.

American Horror Story: Freak Show will be Lange’s last season on the series. In a recent interview, she said, “I am coming to the end of acting. I want to go out with a bang… or should I say, a scare.”

American Horror Story will be premiering its fourth season on FX in October. Reports say that filming will take place in New Orleans. As for the storyline, fans will just have to wait and see what the freak show has to offer.
