Radamel Falcao Promises Manchester United ‘Goals’ & ‘Victories’

Radamel Falcao has promised Manchester United fans that he will score the goals that will lead the Old Trafford outfit to victories over the coming season.

Falcao made his return to the Colombian national side over the weekend, and the forward even came close to scoring during the encounter, despite the fact that he started the match on the bench. Falcao, who was signed on loan for $10 million on the last day of the transfer window last week, was inches away from finding the net in the dying minutes against Brazil. Unfortunately, Colombia succumbed to a 1-0 defeat instead.

After the game, which took place in Miami, where the forward is trying to get a fast-track work visa in order to play in England, Falcao opened up to the Observer about his ambitions with United.

“For me it is amazing,” he admitted. “I am very happy. I hope to give my team the best and help to bring a lot of goals and victories.” Falcao then went on to admit that the last week had been a whirlwind as he tried to seal his departure from Monaco.

“I think I have lived this week very intensely,” he announced. “It hasn’t been the most comfortable week to work in, with all of the changes, but I have lived it like a kid. I have had the same feeling as when I debuted for the national team. It was very exciting and special and I enjoyed being back. I now leave in a very good condition to join my club and I hope to be available next week. I go to Manchester with lots of hopes to try to win a place in the team and then come back to play for Colombia. It’s better to not over think and let things happen normally instead.”

Louis Van Gaal, the Dutch coach who decided to make Falcao the sixth of his summer signings at United, following the purchases of Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo, will be relieved that the former Atletico Madrid striker only played for 18 minutes. This is despite the fact that several thousand soccer fans had paid to see Manchester United’s new acquisition in the flesh for longer.

James Rodriguez, who plays alongside Falcao with Colombia, also praised his return, declaring: “I am happy he is with us again. He is a leader on and off the field and hopefully he can score goals, as he has everywhere.” Manchester United fans will be praying for the exact same thing.
