Tom Sizemore Jailed For Outstanding Battery Warrant

actor Tom Sizemore was arrested Tuesday on an outstanding battery warrant, authorities said.

The LA Times reported that Sizemore, 49, was arrested at around 1:15am local time Tuesday at a downtown Los Angeles apartment building where officers were conducting an ongoing drug investigation.

Although detectives found no drugs on the actor, who told police he was just visiting the Wilshire Boulevard apartment, they still took him into custody after discovering that he had an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor battery, issued over a 2009 case involving his then-girlfriend.

The warrant was issued on August 19 after Sizemore failed to appear in court “without sufficient excuse” and was not represented by an attorney, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Los Angeles County prison records show that Sizemore, booked into jail at 3am, was released at 7:28am Tuesday after posting $26,000 bail.

Sizemore, whose other film credits include Heat, Natural Born Killers, and True Romance, has had several brushes with the law in recent years.

In addition to a string of arrests stemming from drug-related charges, he was also convicted of misdemeanor abuse charges against ex-girlfriend and infamous “Hollywood Madam” Heidi Fleiss back in 2003.

In 2010, Sizemore appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew to try and beat his substance abuse habit – which he said started when he was only 15.

Following his treatment, Tom made a guest appearance on a later season of the show, and praised Dr. Drew and his program, stating he had been sober for fourteen months.
