Jennifer Hudson: Half-Brother Stephen Angelo Simpson Arrested For Stabbing Man Multiple Times

On Tuesday, Jennifer Hudson’s half-brother, Stephen Angelo Simpson, was taken into custody by police after he allegedly stabbed his estranged wife’s boyfriend in the face multiple times.

The stabbing incident apparently took place at Simpson’s wife’s apartment after he barged into her home and found her boyfriend there.

Van Buren County’s local CBS affiliate WWMT reported that a neighbor, Torrey Hunt, told them that the couple ran to his house to seek assistance at around 3 a.m.:

“He said someone knocked on the door, he thought he was knocking on the door for somebody, and he started getting stabbed up,” Hunt told the news outlet. “I open the door and see blood everywhere. He was stabbed in his chin and his chest, he had puncture wounds in his chest and his arms and stuff.”

WWMT also reported that detective Adam DeBoer, who handled the case, said that Simpson’s wife: “locked herself in the bathroom until he left.” He added that the incident related to: “An ongoing feud over a woman.”

The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment and stitches for the stab wounds allegedly inflicted on him by Simpson.

Apparently, Simpson has a long and checkered history when in comes to domestic violence and is even currently on probation having been arrested a number of times in the past for threatening his wife.

The news outlets reported that Simpson was jailed back in February for assaulting his wife. This time round he is in custody in Paw Paw, Michigan expecting charges to be leveled against him by the police on Wednesday.

Jennifer Hudson, Simpson’s half-sister, had not made any comment at the of the writing of this article regarding the potentially violent, and potentially fatal, incident involving her half-brother.

Sadly, Jennifer Hudson is no stranger to violence within her family. Back in 2008, her mother, brother and nephew were all murdered by William Balfour, her sister Julia’s ex-husband, who was sentenced in 2012 to three life sentences without parole.
