Miley Cyrus Wants The Role Of Dolly Parton In Her God-Mother’s New Biopic
Miley Cyrus is reportedly begging her godmother, Dolly Parton, to give her the role portraying the country music idol in her new biopic, but Dolly isn’t giving in that easily.
Miley Cyrus has been a constant figure in the media thanks to her Bangerz Tour, and even though the “Wrecking Ball” singer has been hailed as the “teen queen” and “idol of an entire generation” according to the International Business Times, Dolly isn’t willing to just hand over the role to her god-daughter that easily.
Mirror went on to state that a source has come forward to confirm that “Miley is bugging Dolly for the role,” and despite the fact that Miley has been reportedly sending Dolly audition tapes for the part, the country idol is still looking into other actresses for the role. The source reportedly said that Dolly went as far as telling Miley that she just doesn’t have what it takes to portray her in her biopic:
“This movie is her legacy, and she told Miley she doesn’t have the acting chops to pull it off,” the insider claimed.
Despite Dolly’s reported refusal to give her god-daughter the role, The Inquisitr recently reported that she has all the faith in the world for Miley’s future. During an interview with Nick Grimshaw of The BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show on the 4th of July, Dolly Parton spoke of her confidence in Miley:
“I believe she’s going to make the right choices. She’s had to go a little drastic now and then just to prove her point, but I have got a lot of faith in her and I’m hoping she does great because she is gifted and special.”
Dolly went on to say that she understands Miley’s need to push the envelope in order to stand out and make a name for herself. During another interview, this time with the UK’s Sunday Times, Dolly said that she had to do the same when she was breaking into the industry:
“Yeah, well I do, ’cause back in the day, doing my own things my own way, and dressing sexy and showing my cleavage and all that, I got a lot of criticism. Lots of people thought I was making a mistake and that I was just trashy, which I was. So I did go through that, but I don’t give her advice. Everyone has to walk this journey according to their own rules. That’s what she’s doing. And I lurve her.”
So if Miley Cyrus can’t have the role as Dolly in her new biopic, who is the country idol looking at to play the role? According to a source for Mirror, Dolly is considering Scarlett Johansson, Kristin Chenoweth, and even Jessica Simpson.
