‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Headed To Blu-Ray, DVD In Time For The Holidays

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is still making bank at the box office, but that doesn’t mean 20th Century Fox isn’t looking towards the future.

Moviegoers who grew up in the age of instant gratification never had to experience the long wait between theatrical and home video releases. Once upon a time, film fanatics had to wait at least a year before their favorite movie made the jump to VHS. Thankfully, those days are long gone. Now it’s only a matter of months before motion pictures are screening in living rooms around the world. Sooner if you’re the torrenting type.

Such is the case of director Matt Reeves’ acclaimed sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The movie just arrived on the big screen two weeks ago, though Coming Soon is reporting that the studio is already keen on getting the home video version lined up. In fact, the film could arrive in stores at some point this fall.

To squeeze as much money as humanly possibly from the beloved franchise, 20th Century Fox is offering a pretty sweet version of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes to hardcore fans. The studio is reportedly offering up the so-called “Caesar’s Warrior Collection,” which is housed inside a bust of the aforementioned ape.

Crave Online reports that San Diego Comic-Con 2014 attendees can preorder the set by swinging by the 20th Century Fox booth during the annual convention. Although we don’t have a proper release date to share with the masses at the moment, it’s believed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will arrive in time for the holidays. If you live in the UK or own an all-region Blu-ray player, then you should consider picking up Amazon’s exclusive box set featuring all of the Planet of the Apes movies. To sweeten the deal, the films are also tucked snugly in a replica of Caesar’s skull.
