‘American Horror Story’ Adds Wes Bentley To The Cast

American Horror Story: Freak Show is continuing to leak out more information about the new season coming to FX. It was just announced that actor Wes Bentley has made it into the already huge ensemble show. Bentley will join the likes of Michael Chiklis in being a newer addition to an already established team of players.

TVLine reports that Wes Bentley will act as American Horror Story’s tormentor. If you don’t want to read any more stop here because we have a few spoilers to share. The character-actor is said to appear in two episodes for a Halloween special which will air on October 21 and October 28.

In these two episodes Bentley plays Eddie. According to TVLine the character is described as, “a dark tormentor from Kathy Bates’ past who is hell-bent on revenge.”

We know Kathy Bates will never truly overcome her Misery reputation, but what is it about Bates that makes her the easy target for revenge? Last season she played a venomous slave owner, and now a creepy dark force is after her. Hopefully creator and head writer Ryan Murphy will give us some insight soon enough.

By now we’ve accumulated a few facts about American Horror Story: Freak Show. For starters the new season will be set in 1950s in Jupiter, Florida. At the center of the story is Jessica Lange, who plays a German ex-pat who takes in all the “freaks” and/or “unusuals” for a traveling freak show.

As we stated another newcomer, who will have a significant role in the new season is Michael Chiklis. Murphy told TVLine about the character at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. According to the creator Chiklis will play a “strong man” and will be linked to Angela Bassett’s character.

“He has scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates. I love the part because it’s really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Michael does so well – the strong man who’s vulnerable. I’m very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies. And he’s really up for it, really excited about it.”

Actress Sarah Paulson was the first cast member to really let the cat out of the bag when she tweeted a photo of her two-headed character.

At the time Paulson said:

“I know how much people want to know and how much they actually like to be surprised, and I knew that I could never do anything until Ryan told me that I could and once I got the go-ahead… I just don’t want to be the one who gets killed, you know?”

American Horror Story will premiere in October on FX.
