Pizza Hut Shooting Victim Found Dumped Behind Restaurant On Detroit’s West Side


A Pizza Hut shooting in Detroit, Michigan, leaves one West Side man dead, according to a report by 7-Action News. According to police, the body of a man was found behind the local Pizza Hut in Detroit. Police were called to the scene at the Pizza Hut on Plymouth, after DTE Energy

Pizza Hut shooting took place at the restaurant in Detroit on Plymouth.

Utility workers found the body while they were in the area attending to a power outage. When police arrived, they found the body of a black male in his 20’s with gunshot wounds to the stomach and chest areas. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s identity has not been made public but witnesses say the man was the father of two children.

According to CBS Local, once the body was discovered, several people arrived at the Pizza Hut but had to be controlled, as emotions ran high. Shortly after the discovery of the first victim, Detroit police were called to the scene of a car accident where police found another gunshot victim who may have been injured in the Pizza Hut shooting. The second victim, who also remains unidentified, was transported to a local area hospital.

Neighbors told officials that gunshots rang out Tuesday morning at around 8:30 am, according to a report by Fox News-Detroit. No motive has been established for the Pizza Hut shooting. The Wayne County Sherrif’s Department is asking for information leading to the arrests of the shooters. Anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers at (1-800-773-2587).

Earlier this month another shooting took place at the Pizza Hut in Jackson, Mississippi, where police say 24-year-old Richard Epps fired a gun inside the restaurant’s bathroom. No one was injured in the shooting.

One notorious Pizza Hut shooting involved the 1988 case of Nancy DePriest, a Pizza Hut manager who was robbed, raped and killed at the restaurant in Austin, Texas.

In 1989, a Conyers, Georgia, teen shot and killed 20-year-old Pizza Hut delivery driver Carolyn Boswell, a young woman who had just given birth to a baby weeks earlier. In that killing, 14-year-old Randy Brooks Dobbs Jr., was upset over a $19 bill. After the two argued, Dobbs shot and killed the driver then dumped her body in a neighbor’s yard. He was tried as an adult. One of his known aliases is “Pizza man.”
