Eliza Dushku Splits: Actress Splits From Longtime Beau, Rick Fox

Eliza Dushku has split from her longtime boyfriend, Rick Fox. The actress recently moved back to Boston, MA (she’s originally from Watertown, MA) and she says that geographical differences ultimately caused her split from Fox. According to The New York Daily News, Dushku and Fox began dating back in 2009. Many thought that the two had staying power, but living on separate coasts is beyond difficult — and she was just ready to come home.

The Buffy The Vampire Slayer actress explained:

“Rick’s an LA guy and I’m a Boston girl. I’d rather be a little physically cold than emotionally cold in LA. I missed my town and I missed my family. After living in Los Angeles for 15 years, I definitely grew out of being an L.A. hater, but I think there’s a level of truthfulness and individuality here that is refreshing in a business where everyone conforms to certain standards. I just sort of come alive when I’m home.”

Eliza Dushku’s split from Rick Fox sounds like it might have been sudden. There wasn’t really any signs that things had been going downhill for the pair, who many thought would end up getting married. According to The Boston Globe, Dushku plans to go back to school while back in Boston. She is not sure where she wants to go or what she wants to study, but she does know that advancing her education is on her bucket list so to speak.

Dushku recently landed two new gigs. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Dushku will guest star on White Collar and she has landed a role on Torchwood: Web of Lies. The show is an online animated “motion comic” that will see the actress “front and center.” It is unknown where these shows will film, but it sounds like Dushku will be doing a bit of traveling, despite calling Massachusetts home once more.
The actress recently sat down with The Improper Bostonian and chatted about her life. As a matter of fact, she still has high hopes for herself in the “industry” and isn’t turning her back on acting just yet. She seems to want to take a little break right now, but she’s not closing the door completely:

“I’ve done comedy and I’ve done drama, but I’ve always wanted to work with Scorsese. Fingers crossed. I’ve also always wanted to work with the Farrelly brothers. I love those guys. But I have a new life right now. I’m on kind of a different path for the time being.”

Eliza Dushku and Rick Fox’s split may have been something that the two mutually decided upon. It sounds like the situation is amicable. It was just time for a change, apparently.
