Graphic Video: Arrest Made After Man Punches Pregnant Woman During Robbery

An arrest has been made after a pregnant Florida woman was punched in the face during a robbery at the cell phone store where she worked.

According to WKRG-TV 5 in Pensacola, Florida, Vincent Lavon Johnson was arrested in the incident which grabbed headlines across the world:

“Vincent Lavon Johnson, 41, of Pensacola, was taken into custody around 8:15 a.m. Thursday on the 3000 block of North Roosevelt Street. He was charged with felony battery, strong-arm robbery and burglary.”

Police and media reports allege that Johnson is the man seen in the video above, punching a 35-year-old store clerk in the face before breaking into the register to steal an undisclosed amount of money.

The Inquisitr‘s Nathan Francis reported on Thursday (June 19) that the cashier pleaded for her life during the robbery.

“As the man opened the register and stuffed bills into his pockets, he commanded the woman several times not to move.

“The terrified young woman pleaded with the man not to hurt her any further.

“‘Please, I’m pregnant,’ she said, clearly terrified. ‘Please don’t shoot me, please.'”

What made it easy for police to locate Johnson was a tip on where he was hiding and the fact that when police arrived to the area, an officer easily spotted him from his police cruiser, WKRG-TV reported.

“Officer Martez Lawrence said officers were in the 3000 block area of North Roosevelt Street around 7:15 am today after one of the tipsters said police might find Johnson there.

“Lawrence was sitting in his cruiser when he saw the suspect, who was wearing the same shorts and shoes as he had on Wednesday, running away from him.

“Johnson was able to evade officers, but a K-9 track by Officer James Parsons and his partner Jannus led police to a home in the 3000 block of North Roosevelt where he was found hiding inside.”

The station reported that the cashier was taken to the hospital for treatment of a broken nose, which is remarkable considering the force with which she fell to the ground after the punch allegedly thrown by Johnson.

In a report in which it gave Johnson the “Scumbag of the Year Award,” the website Barstool Sports noted that the cashier could have been hurt far worse, prompting the site to give her some special props:

“How about this chick not even getting knocked out? Just ending up with a broken nose and some scratches. That’s a badddd mama jama.”
