Fantasia Barrino Rumor Confirmed, She’s Pregnant

Former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino officially confirmed her pregnancy while performing a concert on Sunday.

During an outdoor set in Jacksonville, Florida the singer announced:

“God has given me this child and I don’t have to hide it from none of y’all.”

Barrino however did not give reveal her due date or mention the name of the baby’s father.

She went on to tell her fans:

“You are the first person that I share this news with, and I share this with you because I can relate to you,” while adding, “And for a while I walked around figuring out ‘What will they say and what will they think about me?’ But now I tell you I don’t live my life for folk.”

Rumor’s about the singers pregnancy began circulating when she gained a bunch of weight, however her manager said for a while that she was gaining the extra pounds to play legendary gospel singer Mahalia Jackson in an upcoming biopic.

Barrino is the single mother of a 9-year old daughter.
