The news has been pretty rough for Ellen and Portia lately. Just about every tabloid has had something to say about the alleged divorce proceedings. If the recent report in the Daily Mail is any indication, the couple are still pretty tight.
They were seen in New York City earlier in the week stepping out together, holding hands and joking with the paparazzi. It almost seems like the two are thumbing their noses at the rumors of divorce. Regarding the vicious rumors, Ellen told People magazine the following:
“I love her so much it kills me. The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time. I really do. She surprises me all the time. It’s what anyone experiences when you find that person that gets you, wants to take care of you, wants the best for you. We’re really lucky because we know how rare it is.”
The couple has had to endure rumors that ranged from Ellen cheating to jealously to Portia being allegedly pregnant. Lately, their relationship has been further subject to scrutiny, including recent allegations that Portia was jealous of the closeness between Ellen and her gal-pal Sofia Vergara. Reportedly, the three have been privately feuding over how much time the Ellen and Sophia have been spending together. Vergara has recently reached out to Ellen for support during her break up with fiance Nick Loeb. A source close to the couple tells OK! Magazine :
“Portia always resented Ellen’s friendship with Sofia, and now that Sofia is leaning on Ellen for support, she’s even more jealous.”
Though the rumor mill has been rigorous, both stars seem to be taking it all in stride. The couple looked happier than ever as they took a sunny stroll around the city together, laughing and holding hands. Furthermore, Ellen and Portia have been seen out just a few days prior, and engaged in some pretty intense PDA. Furthermore, the couple are planning a lavish trip back to Australia to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary.
So, it looks as if their romance is sound and intact.
In other news, Ellen is rumored to be working on her own magazine, which may explain the couple’s trip to New York. According to the report, a major publisher in New York City has approached the talk show host with the idea of starting her own magazine. The publication house wants to allow Ellen and Portia the option to talk about the several issues about which they are passionate. In a statement released to Star magazine, a source close to the publication house said that Ellen and Portia “are passionate about all sorts of issues — animal and gay rights are high on their list — and of course they would also be able to promote their vegan lifestyle.”
