Kyron Horman: Boy’s Disappearance From School Still Without A Trace Four Years Later

Four years later, the missing Kyron Horman case remains a mystery. 7-year-old Kyron disappeared from Skyline Elementary School near Portland, Oregon on June 4, 2010 during a science fair. The boy’s disappearance wasn’t noticed until the end of the school day when he didn’t return home on the school bus.

Occasional searches for Kyron continue to this day. They range far and few between as time moves on, but looking for this little boy will not cease. His mother, Desiree Young, is determined to find her son and never give up.

Desiree wrote this message on her Facebook page:

“As I sit here in the silence of our home, my mind wanders to Kyron. I miss all of the giggles that have filled our home since he was born. The smiles that Kyron gives us are infectious and I am a different person without them to brighten my days. I need my Kyron home so that I can smile again. I miss him even more today.

“I will never give up looking for Kyron, I will never stop, and I promise all of my Kyron supporters….

“I will find my Kyron.

“I don’t want to be here in another year and certainly not in another four years either. I pray God look over us and help us have a successful search on the 20th, 21st & 22nd.”

Oregon Live reports that investigators are still concentrating on the Kyron Horman case. Any news that’s come of the case recently has mostly been on a series of court battles that Kyron’s father, Kaine Horman, and his mother have against stepmother, Terri Horman. Kaine and Terri are now divorced. Terri was the last one to see Kyron and drove him to school the day he vanished.

Kaine and Desiree believe Terri know exactly what happened to their son, but she hasn’t been arrested or charged with any crime. She refuses to speak about the case and tries leading a quiet life in Medford, Oregon.

In 2012 Desiree filed a lawsuit against Terri demanding she reveal where Kyron is or the location of his body. She dropped the lawsuit in 2013 because she didn’t want it interfering with the criminal investigation.

There’s been plenty of blame among Kyron, Desiree and Terri that persists. An Inquisitr article last September reported on Desiree blaming Kaine for ignoring warning signs of Terri’s alleged behavior towards Kyron. Kaine and Terri also have a young daughter together whom Kaine has sole custody of. Terri is fighting for visitation and shared custody.

The June 20-22 search for Kyron Horman will be led by the charity organization, Klaas Kids Foundation.
