For the first time since Jenny left the block, she has returned. Jennifer Lopez, who has enjoyed massive film, music, and performing success throughout her career, once sang about being from the block, but she had never performed there until she returned to the Bronx Wednesday night for a free concert sponsored by State Farm Insurance.
It seems that New York is getting all the action this week, as Pharrell Williams just finished playing at the Apollo.
During her 90-minute set, Jennifer Lopez played for a crowd of nearly 30,000 people. Most of her set included many of her top hits of past, plus a few of her new singles. Lopez reportedly opened the set with “Same Girl” and brought it to a rambunctious close with “Jenny From The Block.”
During her performance, she had the customary pop singer wardrobe changes, during which she brought back a rendition of her famed low-slung floral green dress that she wore to the Grammys all those years ago. Do you remember the dress seen around the world? During the show, her outfits showcased so much of her backside that TMZ deemed her ‘Jenny From The Back’.
Although the New York Daily News gave J-Lo’s show a meager review, the fans could not be more elated to have their hometown hero home. In the video featured above, the fans can be heard cheering and gushing over the return of Jennifer Lopez.
Throughout her career, which started as a member of the Fly Girls dance troupe on the popular TV show In Living Color, Jennifer Lopez has grown as an artist and performer to become arguably one of the biggest names in show business. She has worked alongside some of the biggest stars to further her career, work that has paid off handsomely. She is now one of the top female earners in the entertainment industry chocking up a laundry list of film, TV, and music credits along the way.
Over her 22-year career in the entertainment world, she has been involved in some very high profile relationships — with the likes of Sean ‘P-Diddy’ Combs, Ben Affleck, and Marc Anthony — and is now a single mom to two twins, who were born to her and now ex-husband, Marc Anthony. She has since been linked romantically linked to her much younger back-up dancer Casper Smart.
