Heidi Montag and husband Spencer Pratt are signing on for the latest season of the reality series Celebrity Wife Swap .
If you haven’t heard of this questionable brand of televised entertainment, then we need bring you up to speed. As the name suggests, famous couples swap spouses to see if they can survive marriage with another human being. Our heroes often paired with folks that are completely opposite from their spouses, which often results in plenty of drama.
Since they have nothing better to do with their free time, Heidi Montag and her partner in crime are joining the ranks of the aforementioned TV series. According to The Hollywood Gossip , Montag and Pratt will appear in an episode later this month.
So how much cash is Heidi receiving for her appearance on Celebrity Wife Swap ? TMZ reports that Montag and her hubby received around $50,000 for the gig. Considering the couple reportedly blew through their fortune in an incredibly short amount of time, they’re probably happy to receive anything at this stage in their careers.
The website also reports that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will trade off with Olympian Amanda Beard and her spouse. Unfortunately for those who can’t wait to see what unfolds, you’ll have to wait a week or so to see what happens.
According to the Daily Mail , Beard and husband Sacha Brown have two children together. Since Heidi and Spencer are presently childless, this will definitely add a wrinkle to the arrangement. ABC will reportedly air the episode on June 19 , so make sure your schedules are wide open that evening.
Considering Montag has very little money in her bank account these days, it’s not altogether surprising that she and her husband have decided to take part in Celebrity Wife Swap . The Huffington Post reported last year that Heidi regrets burning through millions of dollars and spending gobs of cash on plastic surgery.
“We have kind of come to the point where it’s a reality check and it’s like, whoa, we had a lot of money and whoa, we spent a lot of money,” she explained
Regarding her plastic surgery :
“Over the past few years my implants have handicapped me, I have not been able to do a lot of things. Over the past nine months I have not been able to do laundry, or look after my dogs or clean my house and I have had to stop working out because my injuries are so severe I cannot even do simple things like rowing or running. I have been limited in my everyday life and the last few months especially have been so uncomfortable and in pain that it has really been taking a toll on my life and my mood.”
