Pizza Hut is getting some help from country music star Blake Shelton to promote their latest barbecue pies.
Although you might think this arrangement was just a random pairing of fast food and celebrity status, apparently Shelton is a pretty big fan of the stuff Pizza Hut has to offer. In fact, the company was his go-to pie provider during his journeys across the nation.
According to Taste of Country, the singer used to request Pizza Hut on his tour rider. Once Shelton was finished rocking out on-stage, he would have the nearest restaurant cook up a pizza to scarf on the tour bus. Although there were likely other places anxious to send him a slice, Blake always spent his hard-earned money on Pizza Hut.

“My tour manager always says, ‘What do you want?’ And I always ask for stuffed crust pizza. You don’t even have to put a topping on it. When we have a long flight somewhere, I always bring it,” the singer explained.
The Daily Meal explains that Shelton spent a lot of time ordering food from the eatery during his youth. When the company came calling for assistance with its latest promotion, the Voice mentor jumped at the opportunity to help out one of his favorite restaurants.
“Growing up in Ada, Oklahoma, Pizza Hut was a big deal in my community. As a fan of BBQ and pizza, it has been a blast to partner with Pizza Hut to bring two of my favorite foods together,” he explained.

The Inquisitr previously reported that the company is now offering Smokehouse BBQ, Hawaiian BBQ, and Honey BBQ Chicken pies this week. To spread the good word about the latest offerings, Pizza Hut shot a commercial with Blake Shelton. Although he obviously wants everyone to order all three varieties, Blake is particularly fond of the Smokehouse pizza.
“I’m actually a fan of this idea, barbecue pizza. I’m having a lot of fun working with the Pizza Hut people. They’re so much fun to be around. Their headquarters is in Dallas, and that’s basically right outside of where I live anyway, so we already have a lot in common,” the singer told Our Country.
