Soon To Be Divorced Husband Tries To Use Homemade Electric Chair On Wife

Andrew Castle, 61, wasn’t happy when his wife decided to tell him that she wanted a divorce, in fact he was so angry that he built an electric chair in his garage and attempted to use it on her.

Castle invited his wife into the garage and proceeded to hit her over the head with a rubber club, hoping to knock her out, instead she put up a fight and fled the garage where a passing pedestrian intervened as she was being chased.

For his efforts Castle will spent 10 years in jail for attempted murder.

Police has also announced that after his wife escaped he tries to kill himself in the chair and even cut his own wrists in a failed suicide attempt.

According to an investigator:

“It was a distressing case. He intended to kill his wife and had set plans in place to do this,” while adding, ”There was an electric cable and a lamp attached to that for electrocution purposes. It is rare for someone to attempt to kill their wife, or anyone, by these means.”
