George Clooney Engaged? Rumors Fly After Girlfriend Amal Alamuddin Seen Wearing Ring

George Clooney may be engaged, rumors are saying after the actor’s girlfriend Amal Alamuddin was spotted flashing a big ring on her left ring finger.

The couple was seen on Thursday having dinner at Malibu hot spot Nobu, meeting up with their friends Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber with Amal sporting a big ring. Other witnesses say they saw Clooney and Alamuddin at a different Los Angeles restaurant on Wednesday night, buying drinks and apparently celebrating while Alamuddin wore what appeared to be an engagement ring.

When asked about the engagement rumors, a rep for Clooney said simply, “I don’t comment on my client’s personal life.”

If George Clooney is truly engaged, it would be something of a Hollywood bombshell. The 52-year-old actor has been famous for his bachelor lifestyle, jumping from relationship to relationship with models and actresses with no real desire to settle down.

But he may have found something real with Amal Alamuddin, a 36-year-old British attorney and human rights activist. Since they started dating in October, the couple has been spotted together on a number of romantic jaunts, including a trip to Tanzania in March.

It took Clooney a while to even admit that the two were a couple, however. In late October, amid other reports that Clooney was dating Katie Holmes, his rep spoke up to chide those spreading the rumors.

“George wants this… crap to stop,” the rep said. “He wants Katie to get a break, and he wants Amal to be able to prosecute cases without being hassled because she had one dinner with George and four others. I even asked George if these [reports] were true and he said he never comments on his private life, but in the interest of stopping the harassment of all three of these women, he felt he should.”

Of course, it also could be true that Clooney and Alamuddin weren’t dating quite yet and George didn’t want to put the cart before the horse.

Those close to Clooney seem to think he has something much different with Alamuddin than any of his past relationships.

“He’s with someone who is a very accomplished attorney,” a source told People earlier this year. “She isn’t someone who is pursuing a career in acting or entertainment. She’s on his level.”

If George Clooney is truly engaged, it would come at some interesting timing. His former girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, just got married and announced recently that she’s expecting her first child.
