Hayden Panettiere Had “No Idea” about ‘Heroes’ Reboot

Hayden Panettiere, the 24-year-old actress currently starring in Nashville, apparently had no idea NBC was planning a Heroes reboot. Hayden, who played fan favorite Claire on the original series, sat down with Cosmopolitan and opened up about the show.

“It was a shock to me,” Hayden says, admitting that she found out via text message about the show’s return. Hayden also says her and the original cast had “nothing to do” with the show returning. So what will become of Claire? Hayden says she’s as clueless as the rest of us:

Who knows? It’s a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, “That was our show, our home, our family,” something that we had a major part in creating as well, and, I mean, I hope that they don’t have somebody else playing our characters, that would be a little dagger in the heart.

NBC announced a revival of the once-popular show back in February; the original Heroes began in 2006 and had four seasons. The revival is planned to launch in 2015 with 13 episodes.

“The enormous impact Heroes had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,” NBC President Jennifer Salke says. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept.”

So, even though Hayden won’t be in the new Heroes, the blonde star still has plenty to look forward to, including, as we’ve previously reported, a wedding! Hayden tells Cosmo that she’s done trying to “find herself” as is happy where she is:

“I think it’s important to stop trying to run away from yourself and change everything. I have to stop trying to change what I have; I have to stop trying to change my body type and stop trying to change my hair. I’ve got to embrace it. It’s very empowering.”

Bravo, Hayden! Makes sense that she’s now the new face of Neutrogena, with that kind of positive attitude and esteem about her image. Clearly, Hayden won’t be brought down by not being invited on the new Heroes. Seems she’s got plenty in her life.
