Kirstie Alley Returning To Jenny Craig Despite Not Being ‘Circus Fat’

Kirstie Alley isn’t “circus fat” in her own words, but that doesn’t mean she’s happy with her body. Alley announced on Monday that she wants to lose 20-30 pounds and because of that is returning to her relationship with weight loss company Jenny Craig.

Kirstie first signed on with the company in 2004 and very publicly lost more than 75 pounds during that go-round. Since that time, Alley has seen her weight go back up and come back down. Because of her rather public weight loss back then, most people have been paying attention to where Kirstie tips the scales.

It seems as though Alley was the one who actually reached out to Jenny Craig and asked if she could come back and be a spokeswoman for the firm again. The weight loss group told Kirstie they would be more than happy to welcome her into the fold again, according to Huffington Post.

“We hope that having Kirstie return as our ambassador will provide continued encouragement to our members who have also struggled with their own weight and are looking for a program that works.”

CEO Monty Sharma said in a statement to the press. Alley isn’t just going to be the spokesperson this time around though. In an ad that officially announced to the world the parternship with Jenny Craig was back on, the actress said some products from her own diet line were coming with her.

In particular, Kirstie Alley announced that, “this time, I’m bringing my organic energy boost rescue me.” This is a product in Kirstie’s Organic Liaison line and it will apparently be joined by other items from that selection. This means Alley has entered more of a business partnership with this diet food company and the former Fat Actress star will have a more direct interest in how this new ad campaign goes over with the public.

If this new ad campaign is going to work, it will need to have no longer Kirstie finding the wrong kinds of headlines as she has in the past few months. Most notably has been the battle between Alley and actress Leah Remini over Remini’s leaving the church of Scientology.

The war of words has escalated at points throughout the argument that have left both women calling each other names and impugning each other’s integrity. The latest salvo was when Kirstie Alley went so far as calling Remini a bigot.

Kirstie Alley is going to have to avoid those kinds of outbursts for her and Jenny Craig’s sake in the near future.
