Bonnaroo 2011 Complete Line Up

Every June music aficionados from across the globe make the trek to a farm in Manchester, Tennessee to see an assortment of the greatest bands perform at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

This years festival, which kicks off this Thursday at noon, marks the 10th reincarnation of the event so big that Rolling Stone Magazine called it one of the “50 moments that changed history of rock and roll.”

Bonnaroo’s varied 2011 lineup includes rap superstars Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Big Boi, electronic artists such as Bassnectar and Pretty Lights, Grammy winning Arcade Fire, and West Coast indie folk rock band The Decemberists.

First timers? In the words of previous attendees of the festival, “be pre prepared to get wet, dirty, and smelly.” There is ample mud and heat, and when the two are combined an unpleasant odor often results. Festival-goers report that the air stinks after the second day with so many campers gathered together in the hot weather. However, for the hardcore fans, it is obviously worth the minor discomforts.

Tickets went on sale on February 19 and quickly sold out so you will need to haggle with scalpers on Craigslist if you still wish to score a seat.
