Arnold Schwarzenegger Snags $3 Million For Bud Light’s Super Bowl Ad

Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly received an extremely large paycheck to star in Bud Light’s upcoming Super Bowl commercial.

Although the Terminator star has appeared in a batch of ads in foreign markets, you rarely see the big guy in commercials here in the United States. However, that’s all about to change during Super Bowl 48. According to reports, Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently slated to appear in an ad for Bud Light.

Anheuser-Busch InBev remains tight-lipped about the actor’s appearance in the commercial, but a source recently told Adweek that Arnold Schwarzenegger will join other Hollywood stars in the ad. The so-called “Epic Night” storyline will span across two different spots.

So how much money did Arnold Schwarzenegger receive for appearing in Bud Light’s Super Bowl ad? Sources indicate that the Sabotage star snagged a $3 million paycheck for his precious time. If Schwarzenegger was looking to score some of that bottomless Hollywood cash, then he’s certainly on the right track.

“Arnold has shot a series of ads in Japan [a trick used by celebs who want to cash in but without looking greedy at home] but pretty much hasn’t done anything in the US. Persuading him to promote a beer is a big coup for Bud Light,” source recently told the New York Post.

Although the publication reached out for comments from Bud Light and Schwarzenegger’s camp, neither party confirmed the actor’s involvement with the commercial as of this writing. It’s also unclear which A-list celebrities will join Arnold in the Super Bowl ad.

The commercial is just one of the many projects Schwarzenegger quickly lined up following his stint as the governor of California. In addition to a slew of action-packed motion pictures, the actor recently signed on for the Showtime global warming documentary Years of Living Dangerously. The film airs on Earth Day.

According to the actor, he became very interested in climate change during his political career. Since he feels this is a serious issue, Arnold Schwarzenegger is hoping the upcoming Showtime project will help put the problem in terms everyone can understand.

“I always felt that there was a communications gap and a communications problem around the subject of global warming, to bring ordinary people in and make them part of the movement,” the actor recently explained.

Fans can also catch Arnold Schwarzenegger in the upcoming action-thriller Sabotage and the zombie flick Maggie. Both movies should arrive in theaters later this year.
