Aaron Paul Talks Getting Advice From Michael Jackson
The names Aaron Paul and Michael Jackson seem like they shouldn’t exist together in the same sentence -,ostly because by the time Paul’s star rose on the later season of Breaking Bad, Jackson had already passed. Couple in the fact that there’s no way these two could run in the same circle, and you have a pretty interesting surprise celebrity connection that’s been revealed years after Jackson’s death.
According to his interview for Details magazine, Aaron Paul revealed a chance meeting six years ago when the actor was just starting out. It happened in London, at the 25th birthday party of prince Aziz of Brunei. Paul, who is now a pretty popular guy, was an unknown actor, and simply a “random plus-one” at the party.
However, that didn’t stop him from making nice with the King of Pop during a chance meeting. According to Aaron, he was busy chasing livestock at the royal’s birthday party, and in his words this is how it all went down:
“We got there and I see like a thousand sheep, surrounding the castle, and I said, ‘Let’s go chase after them.’ So me and the prince and the princesses chased the animals. Nobody else was riding them but if I have a chance to hovercraft around a castle, I’m going to hovercraft.”
After his wild time hovercrafting and playing with livestock, Aaron’s next stop was the library, and that’s where he met the one and only Michael Jackson, who was casually hanging out with the prince on his birthday.
Paul details the chance run-in with Jackson:
“[The prince] is sitting on the couch with Michael Jackson, and me and [Michael] end up having this hour-long heart-to-heart about family and upbringings, and I remember, he just put his arm around my shoulder and said, ‘You know, if you’ve had a rough childhood or not, it’s all about forgiveness. Once you realize that, it’s fine. Everything’s fine.’ And I’m like, ‘Michael, you are absolutely right.’ And then I go, ‘Do you want to do a shot?’ And he goes, ‘Sure!’ And I was like, ‘OK, Michael, let’s do this.’
If you didn’t get all of that, here’s a refresher course — about six years ago, Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad got to hang out at a prince’s birthday in London, hovercrafted for a bit, and ended his night taking shots with Michael Jackson. Sounds like a pretty great party to us.
