Adele’s Ex-Boyfriend Tried To Make Her Pay Royalties

After Adele’s hit album 19 racked up millions of album sales she says an ex-boyfriend who inspired some of her more emotional songs came calling, demanding that she pay him royalties for inspiring her heartbreak.

According to the Chasing Pavements” star her ex called her and said that he deserved a cut of her cash for “inspiring the songs that broke them up.”

Adele responded with the following message for the guy she says made her life a living hell:

“For about a week he was calling and was deadly serious about it. Finally, I said, ‘Well, you made my life hell, so I lived it and now I deserve it.’ He really thought he’d had some input into the creative process by being a p**ck. I’ll give him this credit – he made me an adult and put me on the road that I’m traveling.”
