Lamar Odom, Khloé Kardashian Divorce: What Happened?

Lamar Odom and wife Khloé Kardashian’s marriage is coming to an end after a turbulent headline-grabbing four years.

Since dating, the couple have been in the news, sometimes weekly, for a whole host of things – but mainly the stories focused on cheating rumors. It seems that Khloé decided that Friday 13th was the optimal day for her to file for divorce from Lamar.

So what happened? What went wrong between the couple who seemed to have so much going for them and were so in love? Let’s take a look at some of the highlights over the past few years.

The dating period for them was a short one; having met sometime in August of 2009, they tied the knot just one month later on September 27. Their engagement was only announced a mere five days before the Beverly Hills wedding took place.

Towards the end of that year, the couple bought their first marital home for just under $4 million! As 2010 kicked in, Lamar, along with his team, the LA Lakers, won the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.

By the middle of 2011, Lamar Odom found himself involved in a car crash in NYC. He was not driving the car at the time and escaped uninjured, although the 15-year-old pedestrian who was hit by the SUV he was in later died from his injuries.

By the start of 2012 the couple revealed that they were having trouble getting pregnant and were considering fertility treatment. In February, Lamar took time out to visit his elderly father who has a serious health scare.

A month later and the media allegations of an imminent split between them hit the newsstands. Those rumors came and went and by September. Meanwhile, Khloé was bragging on her Twitter account about how close her and Lamar Odom were:

“I married my best friend and the love of my life…I still feel like a newlywed. I truly am the luckiest girl in the world and I count my blessings every single day,” she wrote.

Since then, various rumors came and went until, finally, enough was enough. The couple decided to throw in the towel and call it a day on their marriage. There will, no doubt, be plenty more to read in the run up to the actual divorce between Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian.
