The new Thor 2 TV spot has the god of thunder asking for help as he takes on the invaders of Asgard.
Thor has a lot to live up to in his latest solo venture. The first film was okay, with the realm of Asgard being an obvious CG backdrop and the villain actually making more sense for half of it. Some of us wondered why Loki was the bad guy until his plan reared its head and Thor came to his senses.
The Avengers upped the ante, making Thor team up with other superheroes to once again take down Loki. In that film it wasn't Thor that Loki was after, but general dominion over Earth. Being his almost brother (Loki was an adopted child of frost giants), Thor had to team up with Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hawkeye to stop an army from tearing Earth apart.
The Thor 2 TV spot released today shows us that our hero is once again in over his head. A new army is now invading Asgard, and this time around, not even the mighty Odin (who actually fights this time because he doesn't spend half of the movie in a coma) can stop them.
Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) has come down with a mysterious illness that for some reason can only be cured in Asgard. However, before he can save her, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has to save the realm itself. In the new TV spot, Thor is heard asking for help from his adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston). The two must face off against the ancient army of Malekith, who is apparently older than the universe itself and still up to fighting gods.
Thor must be really up against it if he's asking a two-time villain to help him this time.
Thor: The Dark World is slated to hit theaters November 7. What do you think of the latest TV spot for Thor 2?
