Fergie Changing Her Full Name Four Years After Getting Married

Four years after tying the knot with her husband, Fergie is changing her full name.

The Black Eyed Peas singer no longer has any use for the name Stacy Ann Ferguson. Josh Duhamel’s 38-year-old wife recently filed paperwork to officially change her name to Fergie Duhamel.

Since most people know the former Kids Incorporated star as Fergie, the decision to change her name really shouldn’t be any cause for alarm.

According to the Daily Mail, court documents at the L.A. County Superior Court state that Fergie wants to “conform to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years.”

In addition to officially being known by her stage name, the singer will also take her husband’s last name. Stacy Ann Ferguson will be legally known as Fergie Duhamel as soon as someone signs off on the documents.

TMZ reports that Fergie must perform a few simple tasks before the name change can be considered official. The singer is required to publish a notice in a local newspaper for a total of four weeks. Ron Artest reportedly had to do the same thing before he became known as Metta World Peace.

Not only is Fergie legally changing her full name, the happy couple is also preparing for the arrival of their first child. The 40-year-old actor said he intends to take time off from acting in order to help out at home.

“I plan on taking as much time as I can off just before and as much time as possible after. I can’t imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there, that would just drive me crazy,” Josh Duhamel recently explained to the folks at Entertainment Tonight.
