Torso Found In Garbage Bin In Ontario

Kitchener, Ontario – A torso found in a garbage bin in Kitchener, Ontario is to undergo an autopsy as homicide detectives seek to identify the owner of the body part.

The torso found in a garbage bin is reportedly that of a white woman of unknown age and identity. Police added that the remains were discovered behind an apartment building at close to midnight on Saturday. The victim wore a black T-shirt with the words “Forget princess I want to be a vampire” on the front.

Inspector Kevin Thaler told reporters at the scene that police want to hear from anybody who might have witnessed suspicious activity in the area:

“There are people out there that will know what happened here, and why it happened here. We‘ll appeal to anybody with information to come forward and … give peace of mind to a family at least and identify who this person is.”

He added:

“Our background checks will be on missing persons, of course. That’s a big part of the investigation right now, trying to identify who this lady is.”

Thaler confirmed no further body parts had been recovered by police and that an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

This is the second high profile case of apparent dismemberment recorded in Ontario in recent months. Back in September, a female torso was found at the bottom of Niagara Falls. Police later confirmed the body part was that of a missing mother of three from Niagara Falls, New York.
