Ben Affleck Wants To Get Back Together With ‘Wakefield’ Star Jennifer Garner – For A ‘Really Cool’ Film
Fans have been captivated by the Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner split, watching as the couple announced their separation yet maintained a close residence and a friendly relationship. Co-parenting together has helped push the idea that there might yet be hope for Ben and Jennifer to reunite, only to have those dreams dashed with the revelation that Affleck has recently moved into a place of his own, away from Garner’s estate. Still, the former couple seems more than cordial in their co-parenting and in their public comments about one another. For proof of that, one need only look to Ben’s recent interview in which he gushes over the acting talents of ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
Ben Affleck Wants to Direct Jennifer Garner
According to Vanity Fair, Ben Affleck recently shared the immense respect and adoration he still holds for his estranged wife. Previously, Ben shared the awe he feels in respect to Jennifer’s parenting techniques, and the actor is now adding to that by declaring his desire to reunite with Garner in another way. Affleck was asked if he would ever consider directing Jennifer in a film.
“I would love to, are you kidding me?” Affleck says. “I think that would be great. I’ve often said that I want to direct a movie that Jennifer was in because I think she’s so great and she could do something really cool.”
In fact, Ben already has the perfect concept in mind. The Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice actor feels that the perfect plot would star Garner as the hero in a female-driven film. Possibly a new DC Comics superhero?
Affleck didn’t say, but whatever he has in mind, he seems enthusiastic enough that he might just get to work on convincing Jennifer to consider the idea. Jennifer might be on board for such a film because she also previously declared her undying love for Affleck and her own respect for his talents. It leaves one wondering why these two are divorcing at all.
Even if Garner and Affleck do find the perfect project, Ben revealed that there would still be one obstacle to work out. With both parents working on the same film, childcare would become an issue.
“The problem that gets in the way is that one of us has to be looking after the kids at home,” said Mr. Affleck.
Jennifer Garner Stuns at Wakefield Screening in a Little Black Dress
Ms. Garner joined a Wakefield screening at New York City’s Landmark Sunshine Cinema, hosted by The Cinema Society and FIJI Water, and People reports that the actress was the center of attention with her red carpet debut. Jennifer proved her separation from Affleck hadn’t caused any ill effects, as she arrived at the event looking as youthful and beautiful as ever.
The Wakefield actress wore a strapless black dress, which was accented with glimmering gold designs from waist to hem. Black pumps and silver jewelry finished off Jennifer’s outfit.
Based on a short story written by E.L. Doctorow, Wakefield stars Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as an eccentric lawyer who fakes his disappearance so he can see how his wife (Garner) and family reacts to his absence.
In order to play a properly married couple, Jennifer said that she and Cranston went through “intimacy training” to learn how to convincingly relate to one another.
“We did this intimacy training, we sniffed each other, we checked out each other’s feet,” says Jennifer Garner, adding “Brian smells delicious, he smells like Ivory soap. I would sniff him anytime.”
Ms. Garner added that she finds an appeal to the plot of Wakefield because she also fantasizes about getting away from home and the children from time to time. For Jennifer, work is her escape.
Guess that means that Ben Affleck film partnership is out.
Wakefield, starring Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Garner, and Beverly D’Angelo, premieres in theaters today.
