Jenelle Evans Prepares For Final Court Hearing With Mother Barbara
Jenelle Evans and her mother, Barbara Evans, are just days away from their final court hearing regarding their custody battle over 7-year-old Jace.
For the past several months, Jenelle Evans and her mom have been feuding over her son, who Barbara has been raising since shortly after his birth, and soon, they will deliver their final arguments in hopes of convincing their judge of who should be caring for Jace full time.
As fans have seen on Teen Mom 2, Jenelle Evans hasn’t always been capable of raising a child, but in recent years, she seems to be doing much better. In addition to buying a new home, Jenelle Evans is newly engaged to David Eason, the father of her third child, daughter Ensley, three months, and preparing to get married at the end of this year.
Meanwhile, Barbara Evans appears to be less convinced of Jenelle Evans’ progress and prefers to keep Jace with her. Barbara even kept Jace from his biological mother on Mother’s Day, which the reality star vented about on Twitter and Instagram.
After celebrating the holiday with her soon-to-be-husband and her two youngest children, Ensley and Kaiser, 2-years-old, Jenelle Evans spoke to Radar Online about her May 25 court hearing with Barbara.
“We have our final court next week about Jace,” she explained to the outlet on May 15.
Weeks ago, after becoming engaged to Eason, Jenelle Evans spoke to E! News about their hectic life at home with her three kids and his two children from previous relationships.
“It’s pretty hectic!” she explained. “I get a lot of help [from fiancé] David though. Having a 3-year-old and a newborn at the same time is the hardest part.”
Jenelle Evans went on to reveal that while her life with David Eason and their children is pretty complicated, she loves being a mom and wouldn’t trade it for the world. That said, she and Eason aren’t open to having any more children. Instead, she continues to fight for custody of her oldest son as she continues to share custody with her second child’s father, Nathan Griffith.
As for her oldest son’s thoughts on her drama with Barbara, Jenelle Evans said she does her best to keep him out of their feud.
“Jace doesn’t have a ‘side.’ He loves me and my mother equally and that will never change,” she told E! News. “I’m ok with that, too. I tell Jace and explain that me and my mom try to get along, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. I don’t argue or even raise my voice in front of him anymore. If she makes me frustrated, I’ll simply hang up—no need for all of that extra stress.”
“My mom is still not wanting to give up her grudge against any guy I date,” she continued. “David has never done anything wrong to her and still doesn’t really speak to her to this day, even though he disagrees with a lot of things she believes. I have no idea why my mom feels this way towards David, but I’m thinking it might be a jealousy issue. My mom claims I never ‘hang out’ with her when I date someone.”
Jenelle Evans and David Eason are planning to get married this fall but have not yet shared their wedding date with fans.
