Miley Cyrus doesn’t agree that true beauty is on the inside. In fact, the singer thinks it’s downright insulting when people say so.
Cyrus took to Twitter on November 12 to sound off on the common phrase “true beauty is on the inside,” saying, “nothing makes you feel uglier than someone saying your beautiful on the inside.” Her followers have attempted to encourage her following this downer of a tweet, with some agreeing (“true that” says one) and others opting for simple encouragement/ego-feeding: “you’re beautiful inside AND out. ” from one, and, “you’re beautiful Miley ! Don’t ever forget that. I love you <3″ from another.
So what caused this sad tweet? We’re not terribly sure. The only real news about Miley Cyrus lately revolves around her continuing disagreements with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, regarding her wedding plans to Liam Hemsworth.
Billy Ray claimed that Miley will actually be having three ceremonies, with Miley shooting back: “I don’t know what my dad is doing or where my dad is on the planet. My dad knows nothing. I don’t know what he is making up… I hate to put him on blast, but he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
Maybe someone simply told Miley recently to remember that true beauty is on the inside, or that the true sum of a person is seated in their character instead of their looks. Sorry to say Miley, but if that’s the case, your response rings a little shallow.

Oh, and the tweet is kind of at odds with a previous incarnation of Miley Cyrus, who said:
“Beauty is the enemy. We try to conquer not feeling beautiful all our lives. It’s a battle that can’t be won. There’s no definition of beauty. The only way to achieve beauty is to feel it from the inside without breaking down into individual physical attributes.”
Cheer up, Cyrus! Remember the words of wisdom shared by your former self!
