Forget Tom Cruise’s Absence – Katie Holmes Has ’10 P.M. Curfew’ For Self To Ensure She’s There For Suri

As Christmas is fast approaching, it has been reported that Tom Cruise won’t be able to join his daughter Suri in the festivity. Reports have previously talked of Tom’s absence in his 10-year-old’s life. It has been allegedly three years since he last met with her.

According to Life and Style, the actor “doesn’t do much celebrating around the holidays at all” and might only play basketball and soccer games with his older son, Connor. It is likewise believed that he will go to the Scientology headquarters in Florida.

The Top Gun actor hasn’t spoken on why seeing Suri is tough for him but reports point out to Scientology as the apparent reason. Since Tom is considered powerful in the Church, he is expected to adhere to the religion’s rules when it comes to a Suppressive Person which Katie is.

If one gets that label in the religion, all members must cut ties with him or her. To reconnect with Katie, therefore, is deemed a deviant act. Hollywood Life claims that unlike Katie, Nicole Kidman is not legally prohibited to share insights about her fallen marriage with Tom. For this reason, Tom’s ex-wife is allegedly determined to write a tell-all about Tom’s religion and his “Mr. Nice Guy persona.”

Some argue that other people can arrange Tom and Suri’s meetings instead. A report previously claimed that Tom’s sister is the one arranging the father-and-daughter’s meetings, but the claim remains unverified.

Fortunately for Suri, her mother puts her first above all. She recently said in a Modern Luxury interview via Us Weekly how it’s important for her to be present for her young daughter. She admits setting a curfew for herself whenever she’s out to ensure that she will always be there for the doe-eyed beauty.

“When I go to an event, I leave at 10 p.m. because it’s really important to me to be a mom that is dependable.”

She also puts emphasis on giving Suri a “normal childhood.”

“We do a lot of cousin time with my nieces and nephews. I think the most important thing in my life is giving my child the childhood I want her to have. That comes first. That dictates where I work and when I work because it’s my main job right now.”

She considers her directorial debut in All We Had special because its story somehow speaks of hers. “A mother’s love is greater than anything; it’s definitely a universal theme,” she added.

Suri attends an innovative private school in Chelsea, New York, where students are taught to be fluent in at least one language.

Katie has been reportedly dating Jamie Foxx since 2013 but the couple is careful not to be photographed. The Dawson’s Creek actress was allegedly traumatized by the “circus” her romance with Tom caused, that’s why she wanted things to be low-key this time.

A Radar Online report, however, claims that Katie is still not allowed to go public with her new romance because of a certain clause found in her agreement with Tom.

“[Katie Holmes] signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce. She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri. Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”

If the report is accurate, Katie will only be permitted to speak out about her love life in 2017.
