Scheana Marie Shay Divorce: ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Co-Stars Comment On Mike Shay Split

Scheana Marie’s co-stars, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz, appeared on last night’s episode of Andy Cohen’s late-night talk show, Watch What Happens Live, where they discussed the recent split between the Vanderpump Rules star and her husband, Mike Shay.

Days after Scheana Marie filed for divorce after just over two years of marriage, Maloney and Schwartz, who will be seen tying the knot during a later episode of Vanderpump Rules Season 5, said they were surprised to see their co-stars’ marriage come to an end.

“Of course. We all thought they would be together forever,” Maloney told Cohen, according to a report by Reality Tea on December 5.

“You never know what’s going on behind closed doors,” Schwartz added. “They seemed happy from outward appearances.”

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay were first said to be experiencing marital trouble in early November. At the time, a TMZ report claimed the couple was at odds and suggested Shay had emptied out their bank account after a possible relapse.

“[Scheana Marie] got scared when her husband didn’t come home last Wednesday. She thought it was odd because a close friend had just died, and she was very upset. Mike’s history with prescription drugs also escalated her concern.”

At the time, it was noted that Scheana Marie was allegedly unable to reach her husband, so she decided to cut off his credit cards. Two days later, the outlet alleged, Shay reportedly cleared out their checking account and allegedly went missing.

Following the outlet’s account, Mike Shay took to Instagram, where he denied that he was missing and assured fans he was sober. However, weeks later, Scheana Marie filed for divorce, and the rumors regarding his potential drug relapse continue to swirl.

While Shay hasn’t released any more messages to his fans on Instagram or Twitter, his bandmate Nicole Arbour recently spoke to Radar Online and accused Scheana Marie of lying about their split in an effort to lock down her Season 5 storyline for Vanderpump Rules. In fact, Arbour, who shared a video of Mike Shay around the time of the rumors, claimed Scheana Marie knew exactly where her husband was when she reportedly claimed he was missing.

According to Arbour, Scheana Marie was responsible for her split from Shay — and attempted to sabotage Shay’s live show in an effort to get the spotlight back on herself. While Scheana Marie hasn’t publicly expressed any jealousy over Shay’s career, Arbour claimed the reality star was jealous that he was getting more attention than she was.

“[Scheana Marie] made up those things up to try and have an interesting storyline to get a lot of attention around the Vanderpump Rules premiere, and throwing your husband under the bus while he’s completely clean and sober and happy and working on something he’s completely proud of is disgusting,” Arbour added.

Scheana Marie’s friend and Vanderpump Rules co-star Kristen Doute has also addressed her split from Mike Shay.

“Obviously there are other things that will come out on this season that were reasons as to why,” Doute explained to Menounos, via OK! Magazine, claiming it was Scheana Marie’s decision to part ways. “She definitely has some other reasons and things that have happened between the two of them.”
