‘AHS Roanoke’ Episode 10 Season Finale, What To Expect [Spoilers]

Spoiler Alert: Don’t read if you haven’t watched the American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare so far.

Calling this season the strangest season of American Horror Story is saying something, but American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare seems to have developed its own format for telling a horrifying story based on a historical event, the Roanoke Colony. But the show within a show, after the secret theme, is leaving many fans guessing just what will happen for the season finale.

With just the word “Croatoan” to go by, it was hard to imagine at first what this season of American Horror Story was going to cover, but time has shown that it is based on the mystery around the Roanoke Colony, says the Inquisitr. The English had set up a colony in North Carolina, but when the founder returned, everyone was gone. The only thing that even hinted that anyone had been there was some fencing and the word Croatoan carved into a tree. Croatoan was the name of the local Indian tribe.

Breathecast says that the season finale, Episode 10 of AHS will get even more complicated. As we know by now, the real Lee is the only survivor of the Roanoke house, shooting site Lana Winters of the Asylum will return to interview Lee about her whole experience.

The Movie News Guide says that the Roanoke season has had various twists and turns, including the duplication of the cast, meaning that there were the actual people who experienced the horror, and the actors playing them in a mockumentary. Show producer Brad Falchuck suggested that Episode 10, which will wrap everything up, will also possibly be thought of as a stand-alone episode.

The ultimate survivor Lee Harris (Adina Porter) is interviewed by Lana Winters, who calls her “equally reviled and celebrated,” and “one of the most provocative and polarizing figures of our time.” The hints for what happens in Season 10 suggest that Lee faces some sort of legal issue in court after being rescued, but it’s unclear if it is for the murder of her husband, or if she is being blamed for killing the cast and crew, because there is no good other explanation if the tapes in the house didn’t pick up all of the brutality that happened between the Polk family, and the evil spirits.

Whatever happens, writer Ryan Murphy says that viewers will not be able to anticipate what is coming next.

“(The twist) takes you into another world and the stakes are really, really, really high.”

Murphy says the viewers will question everything they thought they knew.

“Things that you thought to be true about people are revealed to not be true.”

Taissa Farmiga’s role in the Roanoke season was revealed last week, but she and it were short-lived, says Vanity Fair. Farmiga’s role was an ode to The Blair Witch Project, in that Farmiga and two friends strapped with Go-Pros are hunting through the woods to tell the true story of My Roanoke Nightmare. Let’s just say it didn’t end well for any of them.

Episode 9 winded down, and there were still two survivors, and then one was done in by the police when she flipped out after rescuers came. AHS Roanoke has been a bumpy ride, with more characters than ever (due in large part to many or the roles being duplicated).

Can you guess what the big final surprise is?
