‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Sept. 30, MIDA Multi-Tool And Year 2 Armor

The second-weekend visit by Xûr since the release of Destiny: Rise of Iron does not bring any new Exotic pieces. Instead, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners should expect to see older Exotic Armor and Weapons at the new higher Light levels.

As a reminder, the Light levels of all armor and weapons has been increased to 350 with the exception of the Legacy Engram. That provides a suitable option for those with the Strange Coins to spend to increase their Light level quickly. Additionally, Ornaments are sold using the new Silver Dust currency. That can be obtained from Radiant Treasure, which guarantees at least one Silver Dust, and/or by dismantling Ornaments.

Xûr can be found in the very back of the bar located underneath the Future War Cult in the hangar this weekend. It’s a long jog, but easy to find. Just turn left when you enter the hanger, go down the stairs to the left, and then straight back. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map just in case.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, October 2. He will be gone as soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

MIDA Multi-Tool

The MIDA Multi-Tool is one of the best Scout Rifles in Destiny. The namesake perk grants extra movement speed plus a hair trigger. This weapon has an excellent rate of fire and impact that becomes even deadlier when combined with the “Lightweight” perk that gives +2 Agility and the “Third Eye” perk to keep radar active when aiming down the sights.

The Armamentarium

The Armamentarium is the Titans go-to Exotic chest armor for when they want to throw more grenades. The “And Another Thing” perk gives all three sub-classes an additional grenade charge. The benefit in both PVE and PVP activities is immediately obvious. Meanwhile, the optional perks come with a choice between extra Special and Heavy Weapon by default with the others centered around Arc elemental armor or recovery.

The 129 Discipline is excellent and double Grenades can be killer in PVP. The only reason to use the Glass Needles on this armor is to change the elemental armor to your favorite sub-class or roll a different stat bonus to fit your character.

Sealed Ahamkara Grasps

This Year Two Exotic Gauntlet piece for Hunters works well with the new Nightstalker subclass, as well as Bladedancers, due to the extra melee charge. This will give Hunters the ability to go invisible twice, which is always a bonus in PVE and sometimes in PVP, too.

The second column random perk rolls include “Switchblade” for reduced melee cooldown time and “Momentum Transfer” for bonus melee energy on grenade hits. The third column optional perks offer a choice between faster Sniper Rifle or Rocket Launcher reloading.

The 53 Intellect / 53 Strength split stat roll is decent for Destiny players. Glass Needles usage should be considered for potentially better stats and/or to get the reload perks for your most used weapons.

Voidfang Vestments

Voidfang Vestments is an Exotic Warlock chest piece that comes with a Voidwalker sub-class focused perk. The “Hungering Void” perk will spawn an additional seeker for Axion Bolt grenades and allows your Warlock to respawn with full grenade energy. The chest piece also comes with optional perks for either bonus Scout Rifle or Sniper Rifle ammo. The final column includes increased Solar Burn Defense or Void Armor.

This has been a fairly common piece throughout Destiny. However, this is the first opportunity to pick it up at the new 350 Light level and the 56 Discipline / 60 Strength split stat roll is certainly not bad.
